Interview with sisters Mary Ann McNeil and Sarah Sullivan; from the Whorton family, an upper class landowning family in the farming community of Waterloo in Laurens County, S.C.; both attended Waterloo School in Laurens County. McNeil attended 1930-1935 and Sullivan attended 1927-1932; their mother was a teacher and principal at the school; after attending Waterloo School, McNeil rode the bus every day to Laurens High School then attended Furman University and Newberry College; eventually became a teacher in Laurens County; Sullivan attended Crosshill School, a two story high school in Laurens County.
